Design for Digital Kiosk for Virtual Receptionist.

I was first presented with this project, it was brought to my attention that the UX flow had to be fleashed out by the team. The current flow at the time was slightly confusing and was an unfinished UX design work. Our task was to decipher and run new discovery sessions to create a much cleaner and organized flow before jumping into any high fidelity work, so a deeper dive was needed. The project manager had me review the user-story document he had created and made sure we covered all aspects of the functionalities of the envisioned platform. From here, I began to create new wireframes based on this, which also covers the features below. After going through multiple ittereations and running various user scenarious, we developed a solid foundation for the user interface and also addressed some branding styles issues. We experiemented with different deisgn options for the user interface design to see which fits best for their brand. I then created a mini-design system to make the workflow edits more fluid. Once we’ve discovered the right visuals, the brand identity, the UX flow, and the final presentation, we wrapped up the high fidelity designs and sent them off to development. It was a great joy working with this team and to be involved in creating such a unique product for the future of digital reception.

The Product

Aether’s aim is to Building the digital reception service of the future. Re-imagining the receptionist function with an immersive, on-demand, AI-assisted platform. Re-inserting humans back into technology through the metaverse. The vision here is to have an agent tied to a physical reception desk is inefficient, costly, carbon heavy and outdated. Aether is digitizing the reception service economy & disrupting the $1T+ visitor management market. Starting with digitizing the $30B+ enterprise visitor management market in the US. Offering on-demand and scalable professional visitor management platform to: corporate offices, hotels, transit hubs, event spaces, and anywhere there is retail or point-of-sale - all presented in an immersive audiovisual experience.

Aether Tech Company (ATC) were making a virtual front desk assistant hardware & software product, which will allow interacting with another human across distance with enhanced remote visitor management capabilities. ATC has made a prototype of the system which uses a 3-layer visual effect (including pepper’s ghost effect). ATC has partnered with Rehash Studio to develop the software systems that will be the basis for how the system functions.

Now, the same familiar face assists you at HQ, across floors, and at Satellite locations—through the aether and onto their set of interfaces. It is meant to be a heightened, immersive experience using innovative 3D lenticular technology and augmented visuals & sound - this isn’t just a receptionist on an ordinary video call.

Virtual agents leverage the aether Agent Software equipped with client-specific protocol playbooks to swiftly and elegantly support visitors through the aether interface.

Evergreen controls for agent/user (always present). Some of the features includes: Notifications, Account Profile, Settings, Logout, Contextual Controls Bar Status messages, Go on break button, Information Pane (Info Pane), Information about clients being serviced on currently logged in agent’s shift, Video Pane (this is where the video call goes), Protocol Pane, Call Log Pane, and Call Log list view and detail/edit view.
